Video Summary
The speaker presented an injectable tertiary lymphoid structure (TLS) therapy being developed for lung cancer. TLSs can activate B cells and T cells, produce antibodies, and promote long-term anti-tumor immunity. Using a lung cancer-on-chip model, the team found that “hot” tumors induced stronger TLS formation, cytokine responses, and cancer cell killing than “cold” tumors. In humanized and syngeneic mouse models, peritumoral injection generated TLS-like structures and reduced tumor growth, with improved survival in mice. The study suggests injectable TLS therapeutics may boost anti-tumor immunity in supportive tumor microenvironments.
